Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I understand that many have heard that I am interviewing and/or pursuing another call.
In the last few months, I have wondered where God would have me go or if I should stay. I believe that Lord has answered me. I have been called to the First Presbyterian Church in Anderson, Indiana.
I believe the Holy Spirit called me to Bethesda more as an unintentional interim. We have done some good work together and being with you all has been a challenge and a joy. I feel that I have done what God has called me to do.
I’ve witnessed a couple younger families join the church; had great times working with the children and confirmands; seen the leadership of Bethesda grow in spirit and wisdom; and I believe that there is more growth ahead for this church as you all trust God to guide you.
I have grown as a pastor (and in my knowledge and appreciation for the Lutheran faith). Thank you for sharing your faith and your lives with me.
I will be in the office and doing visits through the end of the month of June. Call me first, to double check whether I am in my office (or not).
My last Sunday will be June 30, 2024. After my last day I will no longer be your pastor, which means that I cannot return for funerals, hospital and pastoral visits, weddings, or any pastoral duties.
In the meantime, the church council and I will work together to create a plan for pastoral care and coverage. “For everything there is a season….” as it states in Ecclesiastes. Thank you for allowing me to serve you for the last two years.
